I was born in Lincoln, Nebraska, where I was raised until age 14. Go Huskers! My parents relocated to Northern Colorado and I've been in Colorado ever since. After graduating valedictorian of my class at Fort Collins High School, I received a full ride scholarship to Colorado State University to study Electrical Engineering. After taking Abstract Algebra to complete a Mathematics minor, I quickly realized that I wanted to take more Math courses and before I knew it, I had completed a B.S. in Mathematics in addition to a B.S. in Electrical Engineering.

My greatest interest in Electrical Engineering was Digital Signal Processing and Communications, where I was able merge my love of engineering with theoretical mathematics and statistics. For graduate school, I received a PhD GAANN Fellowship from the University of Colorado at Boulder to study applications of Algebraic Number Theory in Digital Communications. After one year working on this research, I completed my Master's of Science degree in Electrical Engineering and decided that some industry experience could be very beneficial to my career.

I have been working at MacAulay-Brown in Aurora, Colorado for the past three years. My specialty is in algorithm development for ELINT applications. When I am not busy with my day job, I am working on a second graduate degree, a Master's of Science degree in Applied Mathematics at the University of Colorado at Denver. My concentration is Applied Probability and I am currently assisting my advisor, Dr. Burt Simon, in the research of Evolutionary Dynamics. We are developing models that use birth-death processes for this field. My final Master's project will deal with multi-group model using birth-death processes for a study in Evolutionary Dynamics.

In my free time, I love to hike, camp, see live music, and spend time with friends and family. In addition to these interests, I have traveled extensively around the world including a monthlong trip to Southeast Asia and four lengthy trips to Europe. Some of my favorite cities to visit include Munich, Chicago, Boston, Stockholm, Venice, and Hong Kong. I am a diehard Chicago Cubs fan and have watched the Cubs lose miserably for the past twenty years. Newly hired genearal manager, Theo Epstein, brings some hope, as he uses Sabermetric and Statistical data far more extensively that the previous regime.

My parents currently reside in Fort Collins, Colorado, where they anxiously await retirement in the next couple of years. I have four brothers. Jon, his wife Jill, and their two children reside in Hong Kong, where Jon works as an accountant. Chad lives and works in Fort Collins, Colorado, where he owns a construction company. Brian is a Structural Engineer living in Juneau, Alaska. My younger brother, Justin, is an Environmental Engineer working in Kansas City, Missouri.
